About the role
We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant in Medical Statistics or Data Science to join the Leicester Real World Evidence Unit at the University of Leicester’s Diabetes Research Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to ground-breaking health research using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD). You will work on epidemiological analysis and methodological research, particularly focused on diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and ethnic health inequalities.
As part of a renowned research centre that collaborates with the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre and the East Midlands Centre for Black and Minority Ethnic Health, you will gain valuable experience in managing large datasets, contributing to publications, and collaborating with senior researchers. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in medical statistics, biostatistics, or data science.
About you
You will hold a relevant MSc or equivalent research experience, with a strong understanding of analysing observational data. Proficiency in statistical programming (using Python, Stata, SAS, or R) and data management is essential. You will have excellent time management skills and be capable of both independent work and team collaboration. An interest in health research, particularly in areas such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease, is highly desirable.
