Job Summary
A Research Technician is being sought to work on fouling control in membrane filtration systems potentially used in the water sector. The position is funded as part of a Proof-of-Concept project aimed at developing a chemical-free, energy-efficient, and cost-effective solution for membrane fouling control. The primary focus will be on utilising electromagnetic or ultrasonic techniques to mitigate membrane fouling during the filtration process and to enhance the removal of foulants more efficiently after fouling has occurred. The project will involve membrane filtration, fouling analysis, and membrane autopsy while also exploring the mechanisms of fouling. In addition, the newly developed chemical-free and in-situ fouling control method will be compared with traditional chemical and physical solutions as part of a preliminary life cycle assessment to evaluate its environmental impact and economic feasibility.
Essential Requirements
Expertise and experience in membrane filtration and fouling control
Capability of working under your own initiative while collaborating effectively with the project members
