The role

The University of Bristol Business School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Accounting (Education Pathway) on a full or part time basis for a 6-month period from 1 January 2025 to 30 June 2025.

Applications are sought from candidates with experience of university or professional teaching in financial reporting and/or management accounting. Successful candidates will have an aptitude for teaching to the highest standards at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Business School is seeking to attract excellent an educator who is highly collegial, will lead by example and can demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the student experience.

What will you be doing?

  • Teaching advanced and/or intermediate financial reporting and/or management accounting at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including delivering lectures, tutorials and seminars.
  • Marking exams and coursework papers for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Acting as a personal tutor to undergraduate students.
  • Aiding unit directors in the administration, development, and teaching of the relevant unit.
  • Actively contributing to the functioning of the school and University, attending school, faculty and university meetings, and undertaking administrative duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Candidates will be invited to give a presentation prior to their formal interview, as part of the selection process. It is expected that the final selection process will be held on either Thursday 21st or Friday 22nd November 2024.

Contract type: Fixed-term for 6 months from 1 January 2025 to 30 June 2025.
