We are seeking a highly motivated and talented post-doctoral scientist to join our team working full-time on a research project funded by Versus Arthritis investigating circadian changes in the joint and gut in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

The overarching aim of the project is to address the role of the circadian clock and the microbiome in driving the development and progression of inflammatory arthritis. The project consists of two interlinked workstreams, involving pre-clinical mouse models and the analysis of human samples to profile the inflamed joint and gut microbiome across the 24h day.

In vivo studies will entail the use of a model of inflammatory arthritis to map inflammatory networks within inflamed joints across the circadian day and to explore dependence on extrinsic rhythmic signals.

Your role may also include facilitating the recruitment of patients from our Early Arthritis clinics to provide samples in the adjacent Clinical Research Facility.

Please refer to the particulars of appointment for further details.

"Successful candidates may be subject to pre-employment screening carried out on our behalf by a third party. The offer of employment will be dependent on the successful candidate passing that screening. Whilst you will be required to provide express consent at a later stage, by continuing with your application now you acknowledge that you are aware that such screening will take place, and agree to take part in the process.”

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
