About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (Children & Young People) with community and critical care experience, to join our successful and highly committed teams delivering high quality education to the children and young people’s nursing workforce, both pre and post qualifying. Previous experience of teaching and leading is highly desirable and your application should detail your areas of clinical/teaching experience and expertise. Experience as a Community Children’s Nurse and critical care experience would be an advantage.

The Department provides high quality, research-rich education using a variety of innovative teaching and learning methods delivered at all academic levels from undergraduate to doctoral study. It also boasts a state-of-the-art clinical skills centre.

You will be expected to facilitate teaching, learning, and assessment, and engage in student support for our pre-registration programmes and other relevant post-registration programmes.

We are looking for an individual with expert, contemporary practice knowledge, committed to leadership, teaching and scholarship to advance healthcare practice in this area.

About you

  • The post holder will work flexibly with the team to contribute to teaching, learning, assessment, and scholarship. They will participate in supervision, planning, designing and development of undergraduate and postgraduate health programmes in their relevant discipline. They will provide expertise to further enhance scholarship, research and entrepreneurial activities. 
  • You must possess excellent knowledge of the subject area and have active professional registration with the UK Nursing & Midwifery Council or Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). You must hold a Master’s degree in a related area.
  • You must be able to demonstrate contemporary expert specialist knowledge and subject expertise within the relevant discipline/practice areas ensuring that the curriculum reflects the latest developments within practice.  
  • Experience of designing, delivering, assessing, and evaluating high quality teaching and learning practice, and evidence of contributions to the development of contemporary practice are essential.
