This is a new and pivotal role, essential to the work of the Warden (Head of the College) and Bursar (COO), and central to the smooth-running of College governance.

The College Secretary provides high level professional support to the governance of the College as a senior staff member of the committee system and is a key point of contact for regulatory compliance matters and strategic projects. During term time, you will provide secretarial support to the College’s two main Committees by collating and circulating papers and taking minutes, as well as by devising and implementing a clear and easy-to-navigate system for the management and accessibility of meeting papers. Throughout the year, you will lead on a number of key regulatory compliance duties specific to UK public bodies, for example in relation to Freedom of Information requests, and support the Bursar with recruitment and induction of new Governing Body Fellows. And you will support the Warden and Bursar with a range of strategic projects to support the College’s delivery of its Mission and Vision – this will be your main focus outside of term time.

To be successful in your application, you will be an experienced administrator with outstanding organisational and communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Experience of committee servicing/minute taking and an awareness of regulatory matters are important, as is the flexibility and willingness to take on ad hoc administrative tasks that arise. You will bring good judgement, a positive and proactive attitude, and a flexible approach to the duties and workload, and will enjoy working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
