Applications are invited for one academic position as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, University of Hertfordshire within the Foundations and Software Engineering academic subject Group.
The department has an international reputation for teaching and research, with nearly 90 academic staff, divided into five academic subject groups.
Main duties and responsibilities
The post holder will contribute to teaching and learning activities including; delivering high quality teaching, learning and assessment to our students at all levels. As a lecturer, the postholder will be expected to have sufficient experience to lead modules and develop teaching and assessment materials in the advertised areas.
The postholder will also provide pastoral and academic support for home and international students. The Lecturer will play an important role as part of a team incorporating the Head of Department or Subject Group Leader, programme leader, module leaders, the professional, administrative and technical staff (if applicable), the Dean of School and the Associate Deans of School.
Skills and Experience required
You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and have demonstrable experience of teaching and lecturing the computer science subjects of the advertised specialism at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will have demonstratable experience and expertise in all or some of the following areas:

The successful candidates will also need to demonstrate the flexibility to teach across mainstream topics in computer science. You will possess excellent communication skills in English.

Prior experience of delivering innovative modules and assessments for varying sized groups of students in a blended or online mode would be an asset.
It is desirable that candidates have a track record of publication, external research funding, collaboration across disciplines, experience of different types of assessment and higher education quality assurance.
Qualifications required
You must hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree (or equivalent level 7 qualification) in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
