About The Role
This fixed-term, part-time Research Assistant position (at 70% FTE for approximately 40 months, till 31st January 2028) is funded exclusively through Professor Chenfeng Li’s research grant. The Research Assistant will conduct research under Professor Li's supervision, with a focus on construction materials, products, and methods, though the scope may extend beyond these areas.
The ideal candidate should possess research experience in multiphase flow modelling of fresh concrete placement with application in deep foundation construction. Additionally, expertise in particle-laden flow experiments using high-speed imaging techniques, large-scale field testing of support fluid and concrete in deep foundation construction, construction methods, temporary works, and functional construction materials is essential. Strong connections to the UK and European construction industries are also required.

Welsh Language Skills
The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
