Visiting Lecturers – BSc Biomedical Science Programme

Visiting Lecturer rate is £43.20 per hour (plus £7.70 per hour holiday pay). Marking only rate is £20.33 per hour (plus £3.05 per hour holiday pay)

We are looking to recruit Visiting Lecturers on an hourly-paid basis to provide short-term teaching cover, and Biomedical Science expertise and academic input. Duties include preparation of learning materials and student assignments, formal scheduled teaching, student assessment, marking of students’ work and conducting tutorials and tripartite progress review meetings.

Applications are invited for suitably qualified people to join a register of people who can be considered for hourly-paid delivery on the programme, marking, review meetings and portfolio review tasks. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with professional/ industry experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Cellular Pathology
  • Clinical Immunology
  • Quality Management in laboratories
  • Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence applied to diagnostics and therapy
  • Pharmacology
  • Pathobiology
  • Molecular Biochemistry

Previous teaching experience, particularly within Higher Education and/or work-based learning is desirable. Associated preparation, student support and marking are included within the hourly rate.
