University of East Anglia’s Campus Kitchen are seeking a self-motivated Assistant Manager to support Union House catering operations, supervising teams, and providing support to all areas of the Union House catering operations where required.
BOX is an afternoon into the evening pizza operation, served in the university bars with a menu consisting of hand-stretched fresh dough pizza, garlic bread, loaded nachos and dough balls.
Unio is due for a light-touch refurbishment in January 2025. To accompany well-established offerings of bubble tea, barista prepared handcrafted coffees and in-house made traybakes, the menu will expand to include salad bowls and hot-held filled flatbreads.
You will be a quick-thinking problem solver with a strong knowledge of catering operations. You’ll be organised and calm in your approach to operational dilemmas, and able to provide your very best support to staff and customer service throughout the day.
Is this role for me?
You will communicate with and motivate front line staff; help to improve sales; offer exceptional customer service; maintain high standards; comply with all food safety requirements; and promote new initiatives.
You will need experience in a catering customer facing role; be an excellent team player; possess good IT skills; and be able to communicate successfully with a variety of staff and customers. Some experience in shift management is preferred but not essential. Previous experience in a busy food service role is essential.
This full-time role is available from 11 November 2024 on an indefinite basis. You will be required to work any 5 days in 7, with a mix of morning, afternoon and evening shifts as the business require.
