We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Centre Co-ordinator for the Centre for Cancer Genetic Epidemiology (CCGE).  As Centre Co-ordinator, you will manage the administrative operations of the Centre, ensuring its smooth running and efficient use of resources. The responsibilities are wide-ranging, encompassing financial management, HR, and general office coordination.  This is an opportunity to play a vital administrative role within a growing and thriving research group. 

The CCGE is one of the leading centres for research into the genetics of cancer and sits within the Department of Public Health and Primary Care. The group comprises more than 40 research and support staff, and post graduate students, as well as visiting researchers. 

Key duties include: 

  • Overseeing the Centre's budget, tracking spending, and liaising with the University's finance team.
  • Managing recruitment processes, staff inductions, and HR paperwork.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and maintaining action logs.
  • Supporting the planning and execution of key administrative projects.
  • Provide PA support to the Director of the Group (Professor of Genetic Epidemiology) and the Professor of Cancer Risk Prediction as well as other senior members of staff, researchers, students, and visitors within the Group. 

This role requires strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.

Key Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Expertise in office administration and financial management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other commonly used software.
  • Experience managing budgets and working within an HR framework.

This is a full-time position or part-time of no less than 0.8 FTE per week.

Funding is available in the first instance for 2 years from commencement in post.
