Assistant Professor of Civil Law

The Faculty of Law, Business, and Government at Francisco de Vitoria University is dedicated to promoting the global common good through training, research, and societal impact.  The Faculty integrates undergraduate, master's, and continuing education studies and includes an applied research unit, the Center for the Global Common Good, and a unit for training political, business, and civil society leaders - the School of Government and Leadership “Isabel la Católica.”   

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct high-quality research in relation to Private Law, focusing on areas such as Obligations, Contracts, Property Rights.
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in innovative ways, including experiential learning. 
  • Participate in interdisciplinary groups and projects. 
  • Engage in activities that promote the internationalization of the Faculty. 
  • Mentor students and contribute to their academic and personal growth. 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Faculty's curriculum. 

 Requirements: 

  • A Ph.D. in relation to Law and or a closely related field.  
  • A proven record of high-quality research, including publications in indexed journals. 
  • Evidence of generating funding for competitive projects. 
  • Excellent teaching skills, with a focus on innovative and experiential learning methods. 
  • Experience of teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate studies. 
  • High proficiency in English (C2 level or equivalent), evidenced by publications and teaching experience in English-speaking universities. 
  • An international profile with experience in global academic environments. 
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary groups. 
  • Commitment to the ideals, vision, and mission of Francisco de Vitoria University. 
  • Experience in organizing and communicating academic events. 
  • Familiarity with educational innovation projects and international research collaborations. 

  Selection Process: 

  • Interviews: Starting January 2025. 
  • Start Date: March 2025

Compensation Package: 

The compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the experience and level of excellence of the selected candidate. It will include relocation costs (if applicable), life and health insurance, among other benefits.
