We are recruiting for a motivated and well-organised individual who would relish the challenge of working in a busy Learner Support Team. Harper Adams University supports one of the highest proportions of disabled students in UK higher education. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team comprising of the Head of Disability and Learner Support, Disability Advisers, Learner Support Tutors, Academic Guidance Tutors and a Maths Support Tutor.
The post-holder will be the main point of contact for all disability related enquiries and provide first line support to students including guidance on the Disabled Students Allowance, organising assessments for Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) and booking one to one study skills sessions.
As a key member of the Learner Support Team, this role requires exceptional communication and customer service skills, and the ability to act sensitively and in a confidential manner, displaying warmth and composure under pressure. Experience of working in a customer focused environment, excellent administrative and IT skills, alongside the capacity to prioritise and multitask in this varied role is essential. A broad understanding of the challenges that disabled students may encounter is desirable
