Applications are now invited for a permanent position as a Senior Lecturer – Course Director for the MSc in Physician Associate Studies.
The post will be based at the Medway Campus of the University and you will work with staff from the Institute of Medical Sciences.
This post represents a significant opportunity for a talented and ambitious person who wishes to be part of an exciting and transformative course at the University and to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to make a significant contribution to educating the future Physician Associate workforce.
The Institute of Medical Sciences, based at the Medway campus represents a centre of excellence for post graduate medical courses, medical education and a regional simulation and human factors project. It delivers an MSc in Physician Associate Studies (PAS) and works extensively with NHS Trusts and Primary Care colleagues. The Institute also delivers an MCh in Surgery with 7 pathways (Regenerative Orthopaedics and Reconstruction / Otorhinolaryngology / Urology / Ophthalmology / Obstetrics and Gynaecology / Aesthetic Facial Surgery / Minimally Invasive Facial Aesthetics).
The main purpose of the role will be to ensure the delivery of the MSc in Physician Associate Studies to a high standard, providing support and academic direction to the course team members and associate lecturers. Further it will be to lead the team towards successful regulation by the General Medical Council and to lead the continuous evaluation and development of an innovative and transformative curriculum. This is a challenging and exciting role which provides an opportunity to gain experience working with a multiprofessional team of colleagues, within the wider Faculty and in collaborations with the Kent and Medway Medical School.
How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Hybrid with Campus attendance varying on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus.
