Salary: UH5 £28,081pa with potential to progress to £31,387 pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location:  Bishops Square, Hatfield

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Herts Academic Skills (HAS) team within the University of Hertfordshire’s Centre for Learning, Access and Student Success.

This post sits within the Retention Team, which is a new team which will play a key role in ensuring that all University of Hertfordshire students are able to access the support required for progression to the next level; of their education, achieve their potential, and complete their degree programmes.

Main duties and responsibilities

The role holder will undertake a range of administrative duties to support primarily the Retention Team Coordinator, but also the wider Herts Academic Skills subteam, and CLASS where required. These tasks will include, but not be restricted to, delivering a high level of customer service, and communicating clearly and effectively with a range of teams and individuals across the University. The role holder will also support the Retention Team Coordinator in collating and processing data related to student retention, and maintain an effective filing and storage system for communications and data, complying with University GDPR policies and regulations.

Skills and experience required

You will have good IT skills, including the use of MS Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint. You will be able to demonstrate good customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. You will be able to collect and process complex data and deal with sensitive information with strict confidentiality.

Qualifications required

You will be educated to A Level (or equivalent), or have proven equivalent professional work experience
