Westminster Law School is a large, vibrant and diverse community of legal scholarship, learning and practice located in central London.
As part of our ambitions to reshape legal education and scholarship, we are currently looking to appoint outstanding candidates to the position of Lecturer within the School. Successful applicants will contribute to all areas of activity within the School, in particular teaching, research and enterprise. We would particularly encourage applications from candidates who combine innovative and ground-breaking research with a passion for transformative legal education and a commitment to the civic mission and unique identity of the School. We would also welcome candidates with a background in the legal professions and/or other innovative areas of professional practice.
We welcome applicants with scholarly or professional expertise in any field of law, but in particular encourage applications from candidates with a specialist knowledge of, or interest in, the broad fields of commercial and corporate law, and connected areas. The School is home to a portfolio of LLM-level programmes in the commercial sphere, including International Commercial and Corporate Law, International and Commercial Dispute Resolution and Corporate Finance, as well as our innovative new LLM in Law and Technology. The School also hosts a large number of commercial modules at undergraduate level, including a core Business Law module for all LLB students. Successful applicants will be supported to develop research- and/or practice-led teaching in their specialist areas, and to contribute to the broader teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities of the School.
The School houses a diverse academic and professional community which seeks to push the boundaries of legal knowledge and practice, and is home to numerous flagship centres, which are leading hubs of expertise and public engagement. Beyond our commercial focus, we offer flagship LLM courses in Entertainment Law and International Law, and our undergraduate portfolio now includes courses in Law and Criminal Justice, Law and International Relations, and a ground-breaking new critical degree in Policing, alongside our longstanding LLB programmes.
The School is proud of, and committed to, the diversity of its academic community, and candidates from all professional, personal, intellectual and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We are happy to consider fractional appointments and job-share arrangements.
