Over fifty years of achievement have seen the University of Bath grow in both size and reputation. Today, Bath is an outstanding and inclusive community of over 20,000 students from 153 countries. We have a strong reputation for quality education and research, and we have entered the top 5 UK universities in the Complete University Guide 2024 and the top 150 universities globally according to the QS World University Rankings, affirming our upward trajectory. We were named the ‘University of the Year’ and ranked 8th best university in the UK by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024 in recognition of our advancements across teaching and student experience.
We are a high-performing, unique and inclusive community of staff and students, committed to delivering innovative research with global impact and excellence in teaching and student experience. Working with our recently appointed Vice-Chancellor, Professor Phil Taylor, our next Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global) will be instrumental in shaping and strengthening our international strategy as we aim to elevate our standing in global rankings, diversify our income streams, and enhance our engagement with a broad spectrum of international stakeholders, research collaborations, and students. As the PVC (Global) you will join the senior leadership team at an exciting and transformative time for the University. As a key figure, you will work across the leadership team to expand our international influence, enhance the diversity of our student body, and strengthen our research and partnership networks. This is a unique opportunity for a leader with a proven international reputation and the vision to deliver meaningful, impactful change.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to provide a global strategic vision and operational delivery leadership with the University Executive Board and wider University community, bringing international credibility in higher education and demonstrable evidence of success in the international domain. You will be a highly experienced advocate for the institution, delivering strategic and operational resilience whilst providing insightful and impactful international guidance to the Vice-Chancellor. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the Higher Education sector, both in the UK and internationally, an ability to deliver on key operational responsibilities and a leadership style which is authentic, engaging and empathetic, underpinned by personal values of inclusivity, integrity and openness.
