We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Research Assistant in Proteomics to join the Discovery Proteomics lab in the Small Research Facility (SRF) at the Centre for Medicine Discovery (CMD) and Target Discovery Institute (TDI), within the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of one of the LC-MS/MS and help with general lab tasks and the tracking of project status and incoming samples for a multitude of projects and collaborators. You will be tasked with preparing samples for bottom-up proteomics using a variety of sample preparation strategies for in-solution digest, on-bead digests, and plate digest. You will be performing method development and implementation for untargeted and targeted mass spectrometry workflows for normal- and high-throughput. You will also be responsible for conducting standard laboratory quality control to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a Master’s Degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or analytical chemistry along with experience working in a wet laboratory. You will have strong communication skills, with the ability to establish good working relationships the ability to communicate results clearly and effectively, and to discuss scientific ideas within the work environment. You will also be able to prioritise competing demands, manage time effectively and deal with a wide range of tasks that demand sound judgment on their prioritisation.
