The opportunity:
The part-time (17.5 hours per week) Research Development Fellow in Theology and Public Issues will contribute to the strategic development of Edinburgh’s Centre for Theology and Public Issues (CTPI), which has been a leading centre for research in public theology for more than 40 years. We aim to foster the co-creation of theological knowledge and insight for the public good, drawing on diverse religious traditions and working with and beyond communities of faith. We are currently seeking to advance the field of public theology, and increase our impact, by exploring new ways of working collaboratively beyond the academy appropriate to the changing religious landscape. The post holder will design, carry out and evaluate research that advances CTPI’s aims and leads to new insights on methods and key issues in public theology. It is expected that the post holder’s work will contribute directly to at least one major funding bid during the course of the fellowship.
The salary for this post is £40,247 to £47,874 pro-rata, per annum (pro rata).
