We are looking for an efficient and motivated individual to become the Head of Human Resources. This role will be key to the development and implementation of key activities under pinning the University’s Aberdeen 2040 strategy (Aberdeen 2040 | The University of Aberdeen (abdn.ac.uk)) and will have collective accountability for its delivery across the University. This role will provide direction and leadership for the HR Section which is responsible for providing a comprehensive and coordinated HR service to the University community.
Reporting to the Director of People and Interim Director of Academic Services and Online Education, the Head of HR will be part of the Directorate Management Team and key duties will include leading and directing the development, implementation and ongoing review of the University’s HR strategy including:
You should be educated to degree level and have significant relevant experience as well as CIPD membership (ideally at Chartered level or above). You should also have significant experience of a leadership/management role in an HR function. Such experience in a higher education setting is desirable. The post requires a transformative and sophisticated leader, someone who can develop and strengthen a team that works collaboratively across the Directorate and with all its stakeholders, developing its strengths and enhancing performance.
