Member of the Board of Assessors – Non-registrant member

General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

We are looking to appoint a non-registrant member to our Board of Assessors, the body responsible for the GPhC’s registration assessment; the national examination that must be passed in order to be eligible to apply to register as a pharmacist in the United Kingdom. We are looking to appoint an individual with education and assessment expertise to join our Board of Assessors as a non-registrant member.

The role:

The principal function of the Board is to maintain the standard and integrity of the registration assessment and ensure that it continues to reflect contemporary practice.

The remit of the board is to:

  • Ensure that registration assessment papers are reliable and valid;
  • Set and maintain an appropriate standard;
  • Agree results and ensure accuracy of reporting;
  • Report to the GPhC’s Council on the performance of candidates and papers
  • Advise the GPhC on the development of the registration assessment.

The appointment will be for four years in the first instance. The position is renumerated, and expenses are paid in line with the GPhC’s Associates and Partners expenses policy. Members will be expected to devote a minimum of 20 days to the role each year (this is a combination of meetings during weekdays and preparation work to be completed in your own time).

Location:  it will be a mix of time spent at the London HQ at Canary Wharf and homeworking from where you live.
