Job Description

We are currently seeking an Admissions Coordinator to join our enthusiastic Future Students team in the Academic Planning department, where you will be responsible for taking the lead to ensure efficient and effective admissions processes, with a particular focus on our Bath-based undergraduate and postgraduate programmes delivered to Home and International students.

About the Role

Within the role you will be responsible for ensuring high quality student records, managing a team of specialist admissions officers, ensuring deadlines (UCAS and internal) are met, monitoring recruitment targets and the quality of applications. As a line manager, you will ensure that team members are tasked, trained and supported as appropriate and ensure that processing deadlines are met. You will work closely with the Head of Admissions and other coordinators, ensuring accurate course and intake creation on the Student Record System and UCAS listings. You’ll manage the student record system (SITS) and contribute to developing efficient administrative processes. With a strong knowledge of UCAS systems, you will maintain and enhance admissions procedures, guide applicants, and line-manage a team of Admissions Officers. The role also involves deputising for the Head of Admissions, leading key university activities such as open days, clearing, and graduation, and driving continuous improvement in admissions practice.

About You

You will have a degree-level education (or equivalent) and a proven track record in higher education, particularly in admissions. You will have significant administrative experience in complex organisations, strong problem-solving abilities, and expertise in relational databases and record-keeping systems. You’ll be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal, and customer service skills, and will have the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, positive approach are essential, along with leadership abilities and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Additional Information

  • Some out of hours working will be occasionally required, including some evenings and specific weekends during the academic year (Graduation, Registration, Confirmation & Clearing).
  • Opportunities for taking annual leave during the months of August and September will be limited and leave at other times will need to be assessed across the team so that service provision is not impacted.
