Bath Spa University is where creative minds meet. We teach and research across art, sciences, education, social science, and business. The University employs outstanding creative professionals who support its aim to be bring professional creativity to the heart of all that we do.

We were delighted to have been awarded the University of the Year for Social Inclusion by The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024, in recognition of our commitment to welcoming and empowering students from a diverse range of backgrounds. We are a TEF Silver university and were recently recognised as one of the best performing mid-size, teaching focused universities in the most recent KEF results.

8000 students study our campuses in the UNESCO world heritage city of Bath and at our BSU London campus in Hackney. An equally substantial number of students study with our UK and international partners. Together with our 1200 members of staff, the Bath Spa University community (like the values which underpin our brand) is respectful, inclusive, collaborative and sustainable.

We are looking for our next Vice-Chancellor to replace Professor Sue Rigby who will be leaving us for her next role in early 2025. As we approach our 20th anniversary in the summer of 2025, Bath Spa University has huge potential. We are dynamic, innovative and ambitious. We operate on a more stable financial footing than many comparable universities. We are therefore looking for a financially astute, authentic and compassionate leader with the creativity, curiosity and confidence to take us forward.

The new Vice-Chancellor will guide the University through a challenging and exciting time for the higher education sector, leading Bath Spa to be recognised for bringing creativity and innovation to successfully addressing the key issues of our age.
