See our recruitment microsite (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/computerscience/work-with-us/somabotics-at-nottingham.aspx) for information on the Somabotics programme, School and University.
As a Transitional Assistant Professor, you will be a promising early career researcher with the potential to develop an international reputation.
You will undertake research in a multidisciplinary team, leading projects and publishing high-quality research papers, and be mentored to develop your own research proposals.
You will have the potential to deliver a high standard of teaching through a variety of methods to support the School’s teaching requirements, within your area of expertise.
Initially, you will focus on research with a greatly reduced and managed teaching responsibility, being supported to develop in all aspects of the Assistant Professor role.
Our vision as a School is to be highly rated in all areas: Research and Knowledge Exchange, Education and Student Experience. We are committed to creating opportunities for people from groups traditionally underrepresented in the field of Computer Science and therefore the ability to relate to and mentor students and colleagues within an increasingly ethnically and gender diverse community is essential.
At the University of Nottingham, we aim to give you all the support you need to nurture your talent, develop, and reach your professional and personal career goals. You will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance.
The post is offered on permanent contracts. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 18.25 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. We are open to discuss flexible working arrangement. Job share arrangements may be considered.
