MS Society

The MS Society is the UK's leading charity for people affected by MS. We are the largest charitable funder of MS research in the UK, transforming our understanding and treatment of the condition. For 70 years we have been at the forefront of support, research, and campaigning to improve the lives of people with MS.  Our free MS Helpline offers emotional support and information to anyone affected by MS including benefits and legal advice. Across the UK our local groups bring people together to reduce isolation and offer support with events, exercise classes and support.

We welcome applications for research projects that will increase understanding of the cause and find new effective treatments or prevention strategies for MS. And projects improving care and services for people affected by MS too.

We fund discovery and translational research, including our world-leading clinical trials program. We recently launched Octopus, our multi-arm, multi-stage rolling mega trial that aims to accelerate the development of re-purposed or novel treatments to slow or stop the accumulation of disability progression in MS. We want to work with everyone who shares our vision of a world free from the effects of MS.

Daphne Jackson Fellowships

The Daphne Jackson Trust is dedicated to returning researchers following a career break for a family, caring or health reasons.

Daphne Jackson Fellowships are unique - they offer professionals wishing to return to a research career after a break of two years or more from a paid research position, the opportunity to balance an individually tailored retraining programme with a challenging research project in a suitably supportive environment. The unparalleled support offered by the Trust's Fellowship Advisors and administrative staff, coupled with mentoring and retraining provided during the Fellowship, give returners the confidence and skills they need to successfully return to research.
