The Opportunity:
An exciting research assistant position is available to understand the role of autophagy and lysosomal degradation in aging and aging-related diseases.
A research assistant position is available at the laboratory of Noor Gammoh, University of Edinburgh. The lab is interested in investigating key events during autophagy initiation, progression, and lysosomal degradation as well as the relevance of autophagy in disease. A current project is available in the lab to uncover molecular events underlying lysosomal degradation of autophagic cargo using a combination of cell biology and biochemical techniques.
The lab is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dedicated research assistant. Prior technical experience is desirable but not necessary and training will be provided as needed. The candidate should demonstrate an understanding of basic experimental techniques, creative thinking, good presentation skills, problem solving and self-motivation.
