About the role
A research fellow position, funded by MDUK is available within the Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Section, UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/child-health/research/developmental-biology-and-cancer/stem-cells-regenerative-medicine; ) commencing in October 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Patrizia Ferretti (https://profiles.ucl.ac.uk/3962-patrizia-ferretti) and Dr Jenny Lange (https://profiles.ucl.ac.uk/search?by=text&type=user&v=Jenny Lange ). The successful applicant will join a team of basic scientists working on rare diseases with a focus on skeletal and neural birth defects using patient-derived stem cells. The salary offered in this post is £42,099 - £43,205 per annum and is funded for 6 months in the first instance with a possibility of being extended for a further 18 months.
About you
Applicants must have a PhD (or submitted their thesis) and relevant laboratory experience. It is essential for the applicant to be very familiar with stem cells, advanced culture techniques and imaging. Experience in cell and development biology of skeletal and neural tissue and molecular/biochemical assays is highly desirable. Candidates must have the ability to efficiently organise their work, communicate effectively both orally and in writing and formulate new ideas.
