About the Role
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to design and deliver excellent education for students in the field of Reflective Practice and Project Management. These roles will focus on students enrolled on our Degree Apprenticeship Programmes.
In 2015, QMUL became one of the first HE Institutions in the UK to deliver Degree Apprenticeships. The Faculty of Science and Engineering, with our partners from Newham College and the London City Institute of Technology, has been instrumental in the delivery and innovation since this time, providing programmes to diverse employer organisations.
Applicants for Senior Lecturer would be welcome to also express a provisional interest in undertaking the rotational role of Director of Teaching and Learning (Degree Apprenticeships), which could encompass approximately 40% of working time in this position for the first three years. Please indicate in your application if you wish to also be considered for the Director responsibilities; further details will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
About You
This role emphasises student education and aims to recruit individuals passionate about ensuring students gain employability and skills. The focus will be on scholarship duties, contributing to the faculty's education strategy and fostering a reputation for excellence.
You should be working towards or having completed a PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Management (or related fields), or have equivalent professional experience, in fields aligned to Reflective Practice and Project Management.
You should excel in communicating complex concepts, supporting students, and offering guidance as needed.

Benefits
We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. In addition, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and campus facilities.
These posts will be primarily based at the London City Institute of Technology campus in London City Island Campus in London, but with the possibility of working at other campuses.
