The Department of Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) at the University of Sheffield is responsible for the management of the University's estate including managing property and facilities and developing new buildings.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Sheffield’s Landscape Services Team as a Supervisor working and engaging with the team flexibly. Your knowledge and enthusiasm for providing operational supervision and support to a diverse team will be an asset to Landscape Services, Engineering and Maintenance and the wider university population. Working across the whole team you will use your expertise in operational maintenance, hard landscaping and horticulture to provide technical support and supervision, continuous development and improvement.
Our green spaces include the main campus, accommodation services and satellite locations at AMRC Catcliffe, Northwest and Wales. Your technical ability and competency in sustainable landscape services will ensure operational works are carried out to the high standard required by our world-class university. You will provide support to ensure the team is legislatively compliant, that a positive working culture is maintained and that university core values are met.
The role is primarily physical and there is a requirement to work outside and support the team in all weathers to meet business requirements. The successful applicant will support the Engineering & Maintenance Team’s strategic objectives of improved service levels, efficiencies of service, successional planning, Integrated Management System (IMS) process, a positive health and safety culture, staff development and legislative and localised compliance. Your in-depth technical knowledge and experience of supervision ensure the Landscape Services Team’s values are optimised via continuous development and improvement.
