If so, the Department of Veterinary Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Veterinarian in First Opinion Equine Practice with effect from 1st December 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The purpose of this role is to be a senior member of the equine veterinary team who provide a high standard of clinical service provision and teaching in equine general practice from the practice base at Cambridge Vet School. The person appointed will provide experienced support to the Principal Clinical Veterinarian in Equine General Practice in the provision of clinical equine general practice services to the Department of Veterinary Medicine. The successful applicant will also play a significant role in the teaching of final year vet students as part of their equine clinical rotations. The Department is committed to the exciting expansion in depth and scope of first opinion equine services at the University and the successful applicant will be integral to the successful delivery of this vision.
Cambridge Equine provide ambulatory services to clients within a 40-mile radius of the vet school backed up by world-class clinic facilities including a new indoor menage, several well-equipped treatment rooms each with stocks, full-surgical facilities and an impressive array of equipment. Excellent support is provided by our two equine RVN's and experienced techs, along with Specialists in anaesthesia and radiology.
Applicants should be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. An in-depth understanding of the requirements of equine general practice work with significant experience of working in an equine general practice environment and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
