The Department of Political Science at Northwestern University seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in International Relations to begin on September 1, 2025. All methodological approaches are welcome. The ideal candidate will have broad training in the discipline and aim for work that offers insight into important issues in contemporary world politics as well as impact within the field.
The successful applicant will teach a combination of graduate and undergraduate courses. A Ph.D. in Political Science, International Relations, or a closely related discipline is required. ABD applicants who anticipate completion of the doctorate by Fall 2025 will be considered. Applicants must provide a curriculum vitae, cover letter, writing sample, a research statement, and three letters of recommendation. The research statement can encompass research, teaching, and service, as well as contributions to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Review of applications will begin immediately. Salary
The expected base pay range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000.
This base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment, does not include summer salary, and is subject to negotiation.
