Queen Margaret University Business School is looking for an excellent lecturer with knowledge and understanding of Human Resource Management and related legal expertise to join their team.

It is an exciting time to join the Business School. We have recently redeveloped all our undergraduate degree programmes and will now offer several new specialist routes, with various aspects of employment and business law throughout each.

We have a real focus on the student experience and developing opportunities for applied and authentic learning. Small year groups mean we get to know our students and can work collaboratively with them to enhance the learning experience. We also focus on developing transferable skills and positive graduate attributes.

The successful candidate will be able to deliver excellent teaching and pursue innovative scholarship in the field of Human Resource Management/Organisational Behaviour, with specialist expertise related to employment law and mediation/negotiation/dispute resolution. You may have some previous experience as a university lecturer but most importantly you will be a committed educator, supervisor, and outstanding communicator. The role will require you to contribute to a range of teaching, scholarship, pastoral, and administrative activities across the division. You will be passionate about the student experience and will be committed to a teaching approach that integrates theory and practice.

You will have or be willing to work towards a relevant teaching qualification and exhibit a clear ability to work collegiately with others to deliver set objectives. You will either possess a PhD in a relevant subject area (applicants should either already hold a PhD or be close to completion),or have another relevant postgraduate qualification along with significant professional experience. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is desirable.

Ideally, you will already have a track record of working with industry partners and be prepared to forge new links across the city, region and beyond to develop opportunities in student education, placements, academic scholarship, consultancy and/or impact.  We have a track record delivering commercially successful training in negotiation and dispute resolution, so we need someone with a ‘can do’ spirit and a sense of customer focus. You may also be required to liaise and support colleagues at our transnational partners who deliver our business degrees.

While applicants will be able to include a CV with their applications, the application form should be completed in full, and answers should explicitly make clear how you meet all the criteria marked on the job description.

This role does not meet the minimum requirements set by UKVI to enable sponsorship of migrant workers.

Please visit our vacancies page to view the job description for this post and download the application form.

Should you have any queries regarding the application process or require any special assistance please contact Human Resources by email recruitment@qmu.ac.uk

The interviews will take place on Monday 7th October.
