Project Finance Analyst

Location : Wallingford, UK (hybrid) 

Purpose:

To ensure accurate and timely accounting and management reporting for centrally allocated Programmes. The role will provide support to the Senior Project Accountant with the review of CABI’s externally funded projects and with the budgeting and reforecasting.

What You’ll Do:

• Responsible for the monthly reporting, variance analysis and KPI’s for the Programmes (Juno, PlantwisePlus, and BioProtection Portal), ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
• Responsible for reviewing and issuing the claims to the Programme leaders and Global Team Leaders ensuring any required adjustments are accurately completed within the deadline.
• Responsible for the setup of new projects in the financial systems for the Programmes.
• Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports and analysis to enhance understanding of the performance of the Projects.
• Assist the Senior Project Accountant with all audit requirements, donor reporting and monthly Programme and Project income accruals.
• Provide first line support to the Global Team Leaders (PlantwisePlus) and Project Managers and Regional Office Finance Staff.
• Assist in accounting, budgeting and re-forecasting processes for Programmes and various externally funded projects.
• Ensure good financial controls and compliance with CABI accounting procedures to satisfy audit requirements.
• Undertake training on the new finance system and provide support and assistance during the implementation stage.
• Other ad hoc tasks and analysis within the grade criteria.

Experience:

• Experience of project accounting and reporting within an international context.
• Experience of budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
• Proficient in the use of a wide range of IT packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook and accountancy system

Education & Qualifications:

• AAT qualified
• Fluency in English both written and spoken
