We are seeking a confident Content Officer with expertise in social media to craft compelling and engaging content that resonates with our audiences.

Faculty / Directorate

The Marketing and Communications Directorate offers full-service marketing and communications support to the university, comprising brand and creative development; design and print services; corporate and student recruitment marketing campaigns; CRM and conversion campaigns; faculty business partnering; reputation management; media relations; public affairs; internal and external communications engagement; events; schools and colleges engagement; Widening Participation; admissions; enquiry management and follow up; web and digital development.

Role

The Content Officer (Social) plays a crucial role in the ideation, creation and production of content to support DMU’s communication plans across a broad range of university audiences.

You will spearhead the creation of high-quality content for social media and a range of channels, aligning with DMU's strategic objectives outlined in The Empowering University strategy. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to schedule content for DMU’s social media channels, tracking performance and sharing insights and best practice with colleagues.

You will have a social first focus on growing our owned channels and optimising our paid content, increasing our reach and engagement, and ultimately helping to drive forward our brand awareness and student recruitment efforts. You will manage a content assistant as well as a groups of student content ambassadors, supporting them in their development as content producers.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and delivering engaging content across a range of platforms. You will have strong social media skills and the ability to engage a wide variety of audiences. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling, you will ensure that our content reflect DMU's values and enhance our reputation.

You will be adept at managing social media platforms and developing social media activities to support recruitment and marketing initiatives. You keep up to date with social media platform developments and understand how to adapt tactics based on performance analytics and evolving trends.
