About the Position
We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Lecturer to join the Art & Design Department at De Montfort University Kazakhstan on our joint BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Graphic Design (Illustration) programmes. This role is ideal for creative professionals passionate about guiding the next generation of graphic designers and illustrators. Whether you are new to academia or an experienced industry professional, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic educational environment that values creativity, design fundamentals, and practical experience.
Our programmes provide students with career opportunities within the broad field of visual communication (e.g., branding, advertising, motion design, illustration, publishing, and more). The role involves teaching both core and specialized modules that cover a breadth of topics, including the design process, typography, and illustration skills, alternative printmaking, and many more. You will support undergraduate (level 4 and 5) students in a professional studio environment as they develop new skill sets and build their understanding of the design process.
Candidates will join a team of practicing designers to build connections with the local creative community and industry and engage students in hands-on projects and creative industry competitions. Our DMUK Global programme further enhances our curriculum, offering students an international experience to explore the broader design context and develop an international mindset.
