The Sino-British College (SBC) is an international university college located in the heart of Shanghai. It was jointly established by the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) and eight leading British Universities: The University of Bradford, The University of Huddersfield, The University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University, Liverpool John Moores University, The University of Salford, The University of Sheffield, and Sheffield Hallam University. SBC delivers four-year degrees in Engineering and Business as dual awards with its partners as well as two years of NCUK qualifications for students who wish to complete their degrees in the UK.

SBC was established in 2006 with the express purpose of providing degrees which combine British excellence and Chinese needs as China continues to internationalise at a rapid pace. Our vision is to be our partners’ gateway for the internationalisation of teaching, learning and research and to attract staff and students from around the world to Sino-British transnational education in Shanghai. Our historic campus, dating back to 1909, has excellent purpose-built teaching facilities and is located in the centre of Shanghai, one of the world’s greatest and most dynamic cities.

SBC provides a supportive and engaging international environment for all students, staff and stakeholders centred around three themes: Responsible Leadership, Enterprise and Innovation, and Cultural Empathy. We develop socially responsible and innovative leaders capable of operating in different cultures. With the support of our partners, we are expanding and diversifying our provision and would like to hire enthusiastic and engaging lecturers to provide the best experience for our students.

To be considered for this exciting position you will be educated to Master’s or Doctoral degree level and have teaching experience in higher education and/or significant professional experience in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Applications from candidates with expertise in Control Systems or Power Electronics would be particularly welcome. Familiarity with UK quality assurance processes would be a plus. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within our experienced team to deliver electrical and electronics engineering and related subjects in the NCUK curriculum and in our degree programme, which we deliver with our UK partner, Liverpool John Moores University.
