About the role

Applications are invited for a Research Associate in vascular-immune epigenomics to join the lab of Dr Alexi Nott (https://nottgroup.com/index.html) in the UK DRI at Imperial.

Following a new award from the Alzheimer’s Association, you will lead one or more projects to characterise the epigenome of vascular-immune cell types in Alzheimer’s disease using patient-derived samples.  Based on the White City Campus under the guidance of Dr Alexi Nott, you will profile the epigenome and chromatin architecture of brain-derived vascular and immune cell types. You will contribute to the design and generation of large-scale ‘omics datasets with a primary focus on epigenomic analysis at single nuclei resolution to address major research questions relevant to Alzheimer’s disease and vascular pathology.

What you would be doing

Using your experience in single nuclei (epi)genomics of the brain, you will:

  • Generate single-nuclei CUT&Tag data from patient-derived brain tissue and stem cell model systems.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
What we are looking for
  • Experience of nuclei isolation, preferentially from brain and/or human tissue
  • Experience of fluorescence-activated nuclei sorting (FANS), and/or FACS
  • Experience of epigenomics and/or single-cell genomic technologies.
  • Research Associate: Hold a PhD (or equivalent) in neuroscience, biological sciences, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research or industrial experience . *Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as a Research Assistant within the salary range £41,694 - £44,888 per annum
