This new part-time (0.2 FTE) post is immediately available until 31/12/2025 on a fixed term basis.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The role

The Faculty wishes to recruit a part-time Clinical Supervisor / Tutor with expertise and knowledge in working with autistic children and young people and young people with a learning disability to support the delivery of the NHS England commissioned Children and Young Peoples’ (CYP) Psychological Therapies training for Children and Young People with Autism and/or Learning Disability training programme within the Clinical Education Development and Research (CEDAR) department.

The successful applicants will have experience and knowledge in working therapeutically with autistic young people, young people with a learning disability and with their families. They will have knowledge and experience of adapting cognitive behavioural therapy and parenting interventions with this client group. However, applicants are not required to have the same level of experience in all areas The role will involve supporting trainees by delivery of supervision, knowledge and clinical skills tutorials mainly online. The course currently takes place on Wednesdays and Thursdays, the successful candidates will need to be available on Thursday’s during term time.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a doctorate level training or Clinical training which includes advanced knowledge and skills in autism and LD to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning;
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
  • Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
