Birkbeck, University of London, is looking for a Content & Delivery Assistant to oversee the daily running of key library services as well as performing the management and delivery of library materials (physical and digital) from our own collections, in addition to our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service.

As our Content & Delivery Assistant, you will;

  • be the main point of contact for stakeholders whilst also supporting others in the team
  • ensure resources such as books (print and digital), audio-visual materials, theses and other electronic resources are ordered, accessioned, catalogued, processed and made available
  • communicate with other stakeholders on a range of topics related to this service
  • use Clio (ILL software) to request materials from other libraries, receive items and prepare catalogue records for items
  • handle our reciprocal service, preparing material for other libraries.

To be successful as our Content & Delivery Assistant, you will have;

  • a specialism within the team; acquisitions, cataloguing, or interlibrary loans
  • an in-depth knowledge of systems and procedures involved with your specialism - overseeing procedures involved from start to finish.
  • experience of resource management (acquisitions/ cataloguing / interlibrary loan/scanning) work
  • proven organisational skills and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy in detailed work
  • demonstrable commitment to professional development and willingness to learn new skills.

This role is part of the Content and Delivery Team that is responsible for the acquisition of all library resources (print, digital, other media, lending from other libraries), and making these accessible (physical and digital) and discoverable for Birkbeck library users through the various search routes.

Salary and benefits:

£29,392 rising to £32,962 per annum, Grade 4 of the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance that applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.

Contract:
