The above part time 0.4 (2 days a week) maternity cover role is available immediately on a fixed term basis until 31 August 2024.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The role

Would you like to support the skills and development of the next generation of CBT therapists working with children and families? We have an exciting opportunity training the practitioners on the CBT strand of postgraduate diploma in Evidence Based Psychological Therapies for Children, Young People (CYP) and Families programme within CEDAR at the University of Exeter. It is an established programme which has been running for 12 years with an excellent track record of training competent CBT therapists across the South West. We cover a wide geographical area and have strong links with local child and adolescent mental health services. This role represents an exciting opportunity for a committed clinician to join a team of accredited CBT therapists, in teaching and evaluating CBT for a 12 month period.

The successful applicant will be passionate about CBT, an accredited CBT therapist or a mental health professional with strong academic and organisational skills. The role will involve the effective delivery of teaching and providing clinical supervision and skills tutorials. The course currently runs on a Monday and Tuesday during term time and therefore the successful applicant will need to be available on these days.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a doctorate level training or Clinical training which includes BABCP CBT accreditation as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist in order to teach and support learning in cognitive behavioural therapy modules.
  • Evidence of accreditation status as a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
  • Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
