Research Technician in Plant & Soil Science

We are seeking a full time Technician to support groups undertaking world-class environmental research. Based within the School of Biological Sciences, the post holder is required to provide technical support for research projects in Plant & Soil Science Research.

Primarily the postholder provides high quality technical research and administrative support to a range of multi-user laboratories and research groups within the school. In addition, the work involves supporting research in our Plant Growth Facilities (PGF’S). Using considerable background knowledge independently provides specialist technical support to the Hallett soil physics group and the Paton environmental soil research group. With high levels of specialist skills in these areas is expected to regularly solve complex issues arising.

This post is to cover a period of maternity leave and will last up to 12 months. Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 5, £31,396 - £32,982 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
