The School of Biological Sciences is looking to appoint a Lecturer (Scholarship) in Ecology. This is a fixed term post for 8 months at 0.8 FTE, to cover a period of research leave; job share applications will also be considered.

We require an individual who can coordinate and deliver an advanced undergraduate course in Wildlife Conservation and Management and can lead sessions on an ecology skills field course.  The individual will also be required to deliver some lectures and help with marking in undergraduate ecology courses and to supervise taught student research projects.  The teaching workload is unevenly dispersed over the 8 month contract, with more intensive periods from end of January to middle of March, and in the middle of May.  Outwith those two periods, the workload associated with the delivery of teaching is relatively light, allowing time for development of materials, professional development and contributions to disciplinary or pedagogic research.

Salary will be at Grade 7,  £45,585 per annum, pro rata for 80%, actual rate of pay £36,468 per annum.

Informal enquiries should be made to Professor Michelle Pinard, Professor in Biological Sciences, e-mail:  m.a.pinard@abdn.ac.uk. Or Professor Graeme Paton, Head of School of Biological Sciences, email: g.i.paton@abdn.ac.uk

This post does not meet the minimum requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route. We are therefore unable to consider applicants for this post that require sponsorship to work in the UK.
