About the role:

The NIHR RSS Scientific Coordinator is a new post and national role, and we are looking for a highly driven, creative, and organised individual to join our team. In this key position, you will be working alongside the NIHR RSS Directors and NIHR RSS Academic Methods Lead to support the establishment and operational delivery of new nationwide initiatives concerned with methods development and dissemination. 

What you would be doing:

You will be setting up a new national RSS Research Methods Academy and developing outreach activities such as seminar series, public engagement events, training for researchers, and co-ordinating national methods meetings. You will liaise with staff at all levels within the NIHR RSS national hub network and other national stakeholders, you will establish relationships with NIHR initiatives such as the NIHR Methods Incubators and NIHR Statistics Group as well as develop good relationships with clinical collaborators.

With your knowledge of an academic research environment and enjoyment of problem solving, you will be setting up new systems for project management, generating ideas for outreach, and developing creative material for communication of activities. You will establish relationships to engage stakeholders and researchers to motivate collaborations and engage. 

Administration aspects of the role will include managing electronic files and emails related to the project work, organising meetings, creating and formatting materials for dissemination, preparing presentations, arranging catering orders, travel arrangements, and submitting purchase orders.

Further Information

This post is full- or part-time and is fixed term for 2 years in the first instance with the intention to extend once the funding contract is in place. You will be based at Stadium House, Wood Lane, close to Wood Lane and White City tube stations.
