The role
We are seeking to recruit an outstanding individual to join us in the role of HR Reward Manager. Reporting to the Assistant Director of HR – Policy and Reward, this is a new and permanent appointment at an exciting time as the University forges ahead in the delivery of our 2030 Institutional Strategy. Although this is a full-time role, we welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours or job-sharing arrangements.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The HR Reward Manager is responsible for managing the University’s reward and academic progression schemes and will contribute to university-wide projects which impact upon reward and progression, including pay benchmarking and pay equality, ensuring the recruitment and retention of talent to deliver the University’s strategic goals. The role holder will also work across the HR service and with senior managers to monitor outcomes, equality impact and effectiveness of these processes, contributing towards the delivery of EDI objectives and continuous improvement practices.

The role holder is also responsible for the governance and quality of the job evaluation process for Professional Services roles, and management of the University’s academic promotion and progression procedures. Working collaboratively on change projects with HR colleagues, the role is also responsible for managing the implementation of the University’s Release Schemes.

The ‘Our People’ theme within Strategy 2030 sets out how ‘we will support each other to thrive, be fulfilled and reach our potential. We will celebrate diversity and be inclusive, fair and compassionate in everything we do, prioritising the health and wellbeing of our community.’  This is a wonderful opportunity to help deliver a vial part of our exciting University Strategy working in close conjunction with the HR Senior Leadership Team.

You
We are looking for an effective and organised manager who can coordinate, inspire and support colleagues from across the University Community to drive forward initiatives and effect positive change in our working environment for colleagues.

An independent self-starter, excellent communicator and relationship manager, the role holder will be required to be competent at understanding and navigating complex organisational structures and relationships, whilst demonstrating focus on supporting delivery across our key people priorities.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification (available on the university's website, accessed by the 'Apply' button) for full details of this role.
