The Smoking in Pregnancy Research Group in the School of Medicine are looking to appoint a Research Administrator to provide support across our research studies. You will be based at University Park.

You will be working on the delivery of two trials testing interventions designed to help pregnant women stop smoking, and will work closely with our group’s Trial Managers, Trial Co-ordinators, Research Administrators and the trials unit teams. You will be responsible for following up research participants to ensure high response rates and high-quality data is obtained for all studies, communicating with recruitment sites, plus a wide variety of other administrative tasks to support the team.

We have a team-orientated approach to the delivery of research projects, and you will be encouraged to contribute, as required, to other research studies being run by our group, depending on time available, and your interest, skills and experience.

You must have good general education including Maths and English GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), or a relevant vocational qualification (e.g. NVQ2 Administration with Secretarial Skills) or considerable equivalent experience of an office/administrative experience. You should have excellent interpersonal, organisational, and written and verbal communication skills, and good attention to detail. You must have successfully worked in a team and in a secretarial or administrative role, and preferably have experience of supporting research/clinical trials.

The position is available on a fixed term basis for 1 year. Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
