About the role

We are seeking to appoint an International Advice Assistant to support the provision of timely and precise information, advice and guidance to international students, primarily related to student visa and immigration matters but also including wider matters relevant to international students.

Working with a small team of International Advisors, the role is a key liaison point dealing directly with students and helping to effectively triage incoming enquiries in a friendly, supportive, discreet and professional manner. Providing initial response and triage for service users and ensuring smooth communication, timely resolution of queries and effective service delivery both within Student Advice & Guidance and wider University services.

You will assist with the day to day support and communication for the International Advisor team specifically, to ensure the effective triage and handling of requests for advice and ensuring cases are passed appropriately to International Advisors for follow up.

About you

You will be an excellent communicator with an eye for detail and be able to clearly explain complicated information in a clear and effective manner. You will have at least a working knowledge of student immigration legislation and a high level of cultural awareness and empathy. You will be able to demonstrate effective planning and organisational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with a well-developed range of administrative skills, and will have the ability to work consistently with close attention to detail. 

You will thrive working as part of a small team within a busy student support service area and have a commitment to delivering a high-quality student experience.
