About the Role

This role is crucial to the success of students and is focused on ensuring that the Personal Development, Behaviours and Attitudes developed and demonstrated by students allows them to achieve their educational and careers aims in a supportive, nurturing environment.

The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of timetabled, well planned and sequenced tutorial sessions, in both group and one-to-one settings provide an ideal opportunity to ensure that students are equipped with the skills, knowledge and approaches they will need at work and in everyday life and have have an outstanding wraparound care support system around to to bolster and motivate them.

In addition, the successful applicant will be a Designated Safeguarding Officer and will deliver and coordinate support for Looked After and Care Experienced students, students with EHCP or SEND needs and those accessing Additional Learning Support.

This post is a vital part of the Printworks Campus PDBA team and as such will be pivot in continuing the innovation and development of the service.

What You Will Do

  • Day-to-day responsibilities will include the delivery of key PDBA topics to students,. along with the associated planning and preparation this demands.
  • Where needed, liaison with internal and external colleagues will be needed to ensure that students are supported at every step of their journey.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the School of Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure that policies and procedures are used correctly and that areas for improvement are identified and are addressed.  This will include monitoring attendance and punctuality, contributing to the management of At Risk students and responding urgent support needs.
  • Work with the Printworks Campus PDBA team to develop, improve and monitor services provided to students.

About You

  • Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE) or willingness to work towards achieving this.
  • Relevant highest-level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject
  • You will be a student-focused team player who is able to manage the demands of a crucial role which is pivotal in student success.
  • You will have an aptitude for assessing sometimes difficult, evolving situations and making a balanced and fair decision, making full use of the principles of Restorative Practice and Positive Regard.
  • You will be collaborative, professional and effective in approach and will work with others to achieve the best possible outcomes.
