About the role

We are looking for a Senior Research Technician to join the “Therapeutic vulnerabilities in solid tumors and sarcoma group” of Dr Sophie Postel-Vinay.

The applicant will have the opportunity to join a new group that is being developed in collaboration with an already established dynamic team at Gustave Roussy, France. The exciting program aims at developing and evaluating novel therapeutic approaches to target very aggressive sarcomas of unmet need, using small molecule and antibody-based approaches at the interface between DNA repair, chromatin remodeling and anti-tumor immunity.

The post holder will participate in all aspects of laboratory work contributing to the research project and be responsible to ensure smooth running of the laboratory, in in close collaboration with the PI and her French research team.

The post is funded for two years in the first instance with a possibility of extension.

About you

The successful applicant will have a BSc with relevant laboratory experience or an MSc. in Cancer Biology, Haematology or a related discipline (or close to completion) or higher degree. Solid understanding of Cancer Biology and Genetics is essential, as is the ability to perform molecular biology, genetic editing, cloning and in vitro cell-based experiment.

The applicant will have demonstrable experience of laboratory management with strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Experience in Aseptic tissue culture (cancer cell lines; co-cultures), Molecular biology: protein analysis (extraction, quantifications, western blotting, immuno-precipitations), RNA analysis (extraction, RT-qPCR, sequencing etc.), multiparametric flow cytometry, imaging (immunofluorescence) is also essential.

Animal handling and animal model set up (procedures including subcutaneous injection, Intraperitoneal injection, Intravenous injection, etc.) would be desirable.
