We are seeking to appoint a permanent post as Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, to help develop and contribute to teaching, research, and knowledge exchange within the Department of Engineering at The University of Huddersfield.

Our School is an exciting place in which to learn, research and teach. We aim to provide an inspirational learning experience, underpinned by pioneering research and delivered by innovative and creative practitioners. We believe strongly in the quality of the support we offer our students, employers and all our working partners which in turn has helped to establish a reputation for the quality and professionalism of our courses, our teaching, and our internationally recognised research.

The main focus of the role is to design teaching material and deliver across a range of modules within a subject area, using appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods. This will be both in the UK and overseas especially for collaborative provision in China and the Middle-East (usually for six-week periods typically twice a year). In addition, you will actively engage in subject, professional and/or pedagogy research and scholarship.

You will be an engaging teacher with an excellent background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, be keen to conduct high quality research and can contribute to our strategic ambitions. You will have a broad set of skills but can teach an in-depth knowledge of academic theory and practice in the discipline of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

With a PhD in the subject area, you will have demonstratable evidence of successful undergraduate teaching experience. In addition, you will have a publication record in the field of Electrical/Electronic Engineering. A formal teaching qualification/HEA membership or the ability to obtain this membership within 12 months of the appointment is also required.

You will join an expert and vibrant team, with specialism in areas such as precision engineering, intelligent interfaces, systems engineering, and diagnostics, and will bring a skillset to the team offering expertise in your field of work.

We believe in the importance of professional skills and accredited qualifications to help our students rapidly advance in their chosen careers. Join us to educate and inspire the engineers of the future.

The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Gold Award holder and Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and Race Equality Charter Bronze Award holder.
