About the role

We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to support GW-SHIFT, a large EPSRC programme that aims to connect academic, civic and industry partners with a shared vision to maximise the enormous potential of the growing hydrogen ecosystem in the South West of England and in South Wales.

You will be key in promoting the activities of the programme and increasing its visibility, through the development and implementation of its marketing and communications strategy.  Your core responsibility will be online stakeholder engagement including via web pages and social media platforms to market, promote and communicate the programme’s work and plans.  

The role will be based in our co-located Hydrogen Hub offices alongside other hydrogen-related project support staff, as part of a cross-project community contributing to successful outcomes overall through the sharing of resources and best practice.

This position is offered at 0.3 FTE (10.95 hours per week) with an expected end date of 31st December 2027.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • recent marketing experience in an academic environment, ideally with some association with sustainable energy systems including hydrogen
  • the ability to work pro-actively, flexibly, occasionally to tight deadlines and with a wide range of public and private stakeholders
  • experience of web-based content management systems and social media management
  • strong analytical capabilities, able to interpret complex data sets and draw insights
